Cabin Cruiser Whale Watching in Ucluelet

Enjoy the scenic views along the stunning coastline of Barkley Sound on our way to the common feeding areas of whales. Learn about the area’s fascinating ecosystems with our engaging naturalists while experiencing first-hand the natural characteristics of a wide variety of wildlife.

On our whale watching tours from Ucluelet, we commonly see Grey Whales & Humpback Whales. Beginning in late February, these whales start passing by our coastline as they migrate toward Alaska. Starting in May we see these whales settle into their feeding grounds around Ucluelet & Barkley Sound. These are the whales we most commonly see on our whale watching tours.

In addition to Grey Whales & Humpback Whales, the whales that we may also see on our tours include Transient (Bigg’s) Killer Whales.

When we’re not watching whales spouting, feeding, spy-hopping, and breaching we’re spending time with other wildlife. On our whale watching tours, it is also common to see Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Seals, Eagles, and more!

Exceeded Expectations

Amazing family experience. Very professional yet friendly. The knowledgeable team showed us phenomenal sightings of a humpback whale which we followed for about 45mins to observe multiple surface breaches including a breathtaking jump! Seals, sea lions and eagles were also seen. The highlight of our whole holiday. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great trip!

We had a great experience whale-watching with our 4 and 5-year-old children on a covered boat trip. Our captain was really welcoming and very knowledgeable, making us all feel very safe and giving loads of information not just about the whales but about the general geography and history of the area. Our guide managed to find a clear bit of ocean and a humpback whale. We watched it for quite a while as it fed; a real highlight of our trip. We also saw seals and several different birds, and our guide pointed out some bald eagles, much to our son's delight.

Unbelievable Whale Watching Experience

I can't express enough the fun we all had on this trip. Our guide was out of this world, so engaged and clearly loves what they do. We have been talking about the trip for two days now! We were lucky enough to meet two humpback whales, but even without them, our guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the other wildlife, that it would have been a great afternoon adventure. We ended up seeing Eagles, harbour porpoise, sea-lions and a sea otter. Wow, just wow. Thank you to Jamie's for a wonderful adventure. Highly recommended and well-organized trip, worth every cent.
