Zodiac Whale Watching in Ucluelet

For those seeking an exciting West Coast experience, with a real connection to the elements, join us on one of our fast-paced Zodiac Whale Watching tours.

Enjoy the scenic views along the stunning coastline of Barkley Sound on our way to the common feeding areas of whales. Learn about the area’s fascinating ecosystems with our engaging naturalists while experiencing first-hand the natural characteristics of a wide variety of wildlife.

On our whale watching tours from Ucluelet, we commonly see Grey Whales & Humpback Whales. Beginning in late February, these whales start passing by our coastline as they migrate towards Alaska. Starting in May we see these whales settle into their feeding grounds around Ucluelet & Barkley Sound. These are the whales we most commonly see on our whale watching tours.

In addition to Grey Whales & Humpback Whales, the whales that we may also see on our tours include Transient (Bigg’s) Killer Whales.

When we’re not watching whales spouting, feeding, spy-hopping, and breaching we’re spending time with other wildlife. On our whale watching tours, it is also common to see Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Seals, Eagles, and more!

Zodiac Whale Watching Tour

An unforgettable experience. Our skipper had a very welcoming and easy-going manner coupled with amazing local and wildlife knowledge. You knew everything they did and said was to be totally trusted. The fast boat ride out to see the whales was so exciting! We had such a lot of time to spot and follow a Humpback whale which was incredible, with our skipper making sure we knew exactly where to look. We also saw a sea otter, sea lions, porpoises and bald eagles. A tour not to be missed!

Wildlife Extravaganza

Booked this trip to hopefully see some whales & we weren't disappointed. Our guide was very assuring with regards to our safety and was very knowledgeable. We viewed some amazing wildlife besides the whales including eagles, sea lions and seals. Although it's summer it can get cold out on the water but suits were provided and we never became uncomfortable. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.

Wow! Great trip

The zodiac is really exciting and our skipper certainly knew their stuff. Our skipper gave us a safety talk before we got on the boat. It is a bumpy ride but it's very exciting and good fun. On our trip, we spotted several bald eagles, including 2 in a nest. Our trip took us to seal lion rock just off the coast of Long Beach. From here we could hear and see the sea lion colony. Just amazing. Whilst we were there our skipper had news from other boats in the area about a grey whale with her calf in the area. We could see their spouts of water and air. We saw 2 grey whales and a baby whale. What a fantastic day.
